Eicq 0.7 Has Been Released
This is our first "official" release of Eicq that uses version 8 of the ICQ protocol. It's beta, but already remarkably stable. Get it here.
So far, only a partial subset of Eicq's former features have been reimplemented in the current ICQ protocol. But it is now at the point where it is quite suitable for day to day use.
What works:
Login/logout
Send/receive normal message
Send/receive URL type messages
Receive "authorisation request" messages
Status switching
Searching for ICQ users via UIN, first name, last name, nick name, email address.
Query ICQ users for their meta info (name address etc)
Dynamically add new users to your contact list
Retrieve messages sent to you while you were offline when you login
Auto responses to incoming msg while away/na/occ/dnd
As you can see, there is still a fair amount of work to do. So, if you'd like to help, we'd love to hear from you. Please drop us a line.
